The mission of CLASS is to support people with disabilities as they explore options, participate in the community and strive toward equality. We are… Working Toward A Community Where Each Belongs.
Overview and Services Provided:
CLASS is a nonprofit organization serving individuals with disabilities, older adults, and their families throughout Allegheny and surrounding counties. The organization was founded in 1951 by family members interested in seeing their children with disabilities have more opportunities in their lives. CLASS has grown and developed over the years, but that basic goal of helping people with disabilities live full lives in their communities still remains. The organization serves adults whose diagnoses include, but are not limited to, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida, spinal cord injury, autism, traumatic brain injury, or intellectual and developmental disabilities. The organization serves individuals through a variety of in-home and community-based services designed to meet the varying needs of people living with disabilities. Programs include In-Home Services, Residential Services, Community Partners, Centre Services, Multiple Sclerosis Services, Employment Services, Structured Day, Technology for Our Whole Lives and more.
